GENERAL INFORMATION
Maine Centers for Healthcare is pleased to announce the implementation of our new Electronic Health Records system. This now allows us to provide even better service at any one of our locations!
Over the last several months we have been striving to implement what is fast becoming the standard for healthcare/medical records across the country. This system streamlines clinical workflows by intuitively following the care process. With powerful tools to support decision making, manage chronic disease and deliver preventative medicine, this system ensures that patient care is always of the highest quality.
Office Hours / Appointments
Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 - 5:00. One of our physicians is always available in an emergency and a 24-hour answering service is available during non-business hours to answer our calls and to reach the designated on-call physician.
Visits are by appointment only. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to keep an appointment. We ask for a minimum of 24-hour notice for all cancellations. This will allow availability for other patients in need of care.

Phone Calls
We are available by telephone Monday through Thursday 9:00 - 4:30 and Friday 9:00 - 4:00. During periods of high call volume, it may be necessary to leave a message with the reception staff. They will return your call as promptly as possible. Medical questions will be referred to the nurse or medical assistant for your physician. Sometimes it will be necessary for them to take a message and check with the doctor when he/she is available. A return phone call will be made as soon as possible, please be patient. All emergency calls will be routed to the doctors right away.
Insurance
We are participating providers with Medicare and Mainecare as well as many HMO's and PPO's. We will submit your claims for you to your primary and secondary insurance carriers. You are responsible for any charges not paid by your insurance carrier(s).
If you belong to an HMO we ask that you pay your co-pay at the time of each visit. Also, you are responsible for getting a referral from your primary care physician. It is your responsibility to check with your insurance company prior to your appointment date to ensure they have a referral on file.

Hospital Care
Our physicians are on the medical staffs of Mercy hospital and Maine Medical Center. You may be cared for at either hospital, depending on availability and your medical needs. If you prefer being admitted to either hospital, please discuss this with your physician or his/her nurse prior to admission.
