STRESS TESTING

Supervised by physicians in the cardiology and internal medicine departments, and working in conjunction with the nuclear medicine department, Maine Centers for Healthcare offers both basic treadmill and nuclear stress testing.

Comparing the heart's activity at rest and under exertion, stress tests are utilized in order to diagnose cardiac conditions, monitor progress of current cardiac patients as well as to discover possible heart-related causes of symptoms such as shortness of breath or lightheadedness.
